![]() ![]() It comes down to what you want from the Device. So you can just get the Shield TV or the Amazon Fire Cube. The only good thing about the Fire Cube I like is the interface and The Nvidia Shield does need something that brings content and where to get it under one roof. Fire Cube at least has Android 9 (Fire OS 7) but it will never see an Android 10 Version. The Fire stick is stuck on Fire OS 6 which is based on Android 7 and it will never move off it. The Shield also will get updates to the latest version of Android so it will get android 10 and this is another thing I don't like about amazon it won't upgrade the Fire OS to a newer version so the one its load with is the one it's stuck that variant. Storage for me is not an issue as I don't play games on the Shield so the 8Gb is fine as I don't load alot of apps on it. Both devices do run the plex client The Shield Pro just has the added bonus of running a plex server.įor me I would say Plex Defiantly on the shield just for full range of Audio support where as Amazon just supports a limited range of audio codecs. I have the Fire Stick, Fire Cube and Nvidia Shield TV (was my latest one due to third party apps not properly supporting Auto 4K resolution and match frame rate). ![]()
